REVENGE IS SWEET FOR THE WILDCATS

Last Tuesday night, the Carlisle Boys Basketball team was on a mission. Exactly one month ago, the Cats had suffered a very tough loss to Winterset. Carlisle led in that game for 28 of 32 minutes. Coach McAnelly could tell in the pre game locker room that team had a special look in their eye and focus on their face that he had not seen all year. Carlisle came out of the gates fast, and had a nice 6 point lead at half time. However, that was the exact same case a month ago over at Winterset when the Cats also led by six at halftime. The third quarter proved to be the difference this time around as the Wildcats outscored the Huskies 14-6. Carlisle went on to a great 62-47 victory.
Leaders from the game were Max Grandgenett , who played a outstanding game with his 8th double-double of the year, and finished with 17 points and 15 rebounds. Brady Roland also finished in double figures with 17 points and 4 steals. Jeremy Flaws had a nice game with 9 points and 4 assists and 3 steals. Matt Stickley had a really good game finishing with 6 points and 5 rebounds and 3 floor burns. Brock Adams had another solid performance with 7 points and 5 rebounds. Derek Dunn once again was the floor general and finished with 3 points, 3 assists and 4 rebounds. Justin Hagedorn finished with 3 points and 2 charges taken.

                                                                6 SENIORS HONORED
Six seniors were honored as it was Senior Night at the Carlisle High School Gym. Those six seniors include: Max Grandgenett, Matt Stickley, Chase Farrell, Eric Yates, Brock Adams and Derek Dunn. On this night of honoring six seniors, the Wildcats hosted a very talented ADM team. ADM got off to a very hot start and led at half time 39-25. In the second half the Cats battled hard to get back into the game and at two different times had the lead cut to 7 and 8 but could get no closer. ADM won the game 66-52.
Leaders from the game were Brady Roland, who had an outstanding game, finishing with 18 points, 4 steals, and 4 rebounds. Derek Dunn, who has been playing basically on one leg, finished with 10 points. Derek has shown a great amount of courage and heart playing through pain but still finding ways to help his team. Jeremy Flaws had another fine game finishing with 9 points. Brock Adams finished with 7 points. Max Grandgenett finished with 5 points and Justin Hagedorn chipped in with 3 points.

WILDCATS VICTORIOUS IN SATURDAY MATINEE
After a bitter sweet senior night, Coach McAnelly did not know for sure how his players were going to react with having to play another game with less than a 20 hour break from the night before. The Wildcats, as they have often this year, showed their true colors and came out of the gates on fire against Boone. The score at halftime was Carlisle 24 and Boone 18. Once again the third quarter proved to be the difference as the Wildcats stretched their lead out to 16 by the end of the third period. Boone fought hard, but the Cats fought harder with and were able to enjoy a nice Saturday afternoon win. The final score was Carlisle 58 and Boone 46.
Leaders for the game were Jeremy Flaws who had an outstanding performance. Flaws had 16 points, 4 steals and 4 assists. Max Grandgenett had 14 points and 8 rebounds. Derek Dunn once again had another fine performance with 10 points and 5 rebounds. Brady Roland chipped in with 7 points. Brock Adams had 3 points. Chase Farrell had 3 points after coming back from a knee injury. It was great to have Chase back out there. Justin Hagedorn had 3 points while Matt Stickley had 2.

                                                 SCOREBOARD DOES NOT TELL EVERTHING
Tuesday night the Carlisle Wildcat Boys Basketball team played against a very good and talented Ballard Bomber squad. With 4 minutes left in the third quarter the Wildcats trailed by two. However the Bombers finished the game on a 30-16 run. However, the huge run to end the game made by Ballard was not  for one second caused by a lack of effort by the Wildcats. Coach McAnelly felt his team played their hearts out and gave everything they had as they had done all of the previous 21 regular season games. Ballard won the game 64-48 but the scoreboard has no measure of the Wildcats heart and effort.
Leaders from the game were Max Grandgenett finishing one rebound short of his ninth double-double of the year with 18 points and 9 rebounds. Derek Dunn had a great game finishing with 13 points, 6 assists, 4 rebounds, and 2 steals. Jeremy Flaws has had a nice stretch of games finishing with 10 points, 4 assists and 5 rebounds and 2 steals. Brady Roland, Brock Adams, and Justin Hagedorn each chipped in with 2 points. Matt Stickley finished with 1 point.
