Despite not practicing or playing for 5 days, the freshmen baseball team continued its hot streak by defeating ADM by the scores of 6-1 and 2-0 in a Tuesday doubleheader.  Carlisle`s bats struggled all day going a combined 9-41 (.220 average) but superb pitching by Daniel Hupke and Nate Stickley along with strong defensive efforts by the entire team led to the victories.  In Game 1 Hupke won his third straight decision to move his record to 3-1 by throwing a 5 inning three hitter. Hupke fanned nine, walked two, and hit one batter.  Leadoff hitter Dallas Loney went 2-3 with a double and two rbi`s while Joey Ermler picked up a pair of hits in three trips to the dish and also drove in two runs.  Daniel Gramowski was the unsung hero of the game by perfectly executing a sacrifice bunt to move runners to second and third before Loney knocked both in with his fifth double of the season to break open a 1-1 tie in the top of the 4th.

Game 2 was a pitcher`s duel as both teams failed to push across any runs through the first four innings.  Daniel Schwartz came up huge in his only plate appearance of the game as he rocked a triple to deep right field to start a two out rally in the top of the last inning. He scored on the ensuing pitch when the ball squirted past the Tiger catcher.  Loney then came up to rip another double before Ermler drove him in with his third hit of the doubleheader.  Stickley also moved his record on the hill to 3-1 with his five inning shutout.  Stickley surrendered only two hits, walked one, and struck out eight.  He now has a team-low ERA of 1.47.
