Cats Split with Saydel and B-F

Saydel broke open a 4-4 tie in the fourth inning with four runs to defeat the Carlisle freshmen by the score of 8-4.  The Cats were led by Nate Stickley`s two singles.  Dallas Loney and Grant Davis each picked up a hit.  Zach Abdulrahim took the loss on the mound.  Game two saw Carlisle jump out to an early 11-0 lead before Saydel answered with five runs of their own to make the final score 11-5 in favor of the Cats.   Loney, Dylan Pinckney, Joey Ermler, Daniel Hupke and David Reid each had a hit. Loney and Hupke each had doubles with Hupke driving in three runs.  Reid picked up the win on the mound despite throwing only 2 1/3 innings and giving up 5 runs.  He struck out 5 and walked 5. Chance Becker threw 1 1/3 innings of scoreless relief.

The bats of the Wildcats stayed asleep for the second day as they suffered a 5-3 setback against Bondurant-Farrar.  Carlisle managed only five hits in the opening game.  Hupke took the loss on the mound despite giving up only three earned runs on 6 hits while striking out 7 and walking one.  Game two was deja vu of the previous day as the Cats sprinted out to an early 10-0 lead.  The final score was 13-2 in favor of Carlisle.  Joey Ermler led the charge offensively going 3-4 with four runs batted in. Loney and Stickley each had two hits including a double.  Loney and Hupke drove in two runs each while Grant Davis scored three runs.  The Cats walked 11 times and stole 11 bases in the win.

With only one week left in the rain-shortened season the freshmen record stands at 12-5.
