Dallas Loney was the main attraction in game one vs. 4A Johnston on Wednesday. Loney went 3-4 from the plate and pitched 6 great innings in a tough 2-1 defeat. Carlisle only had six hits in the contest but great defense kept them in the game through all seven innings. Loney, who was pitching for only the second time all season, gave up 4 hits, struck out 2, and walked 2. Nate Stickley had two hits while Dylan Pinckney had an infield single.
Game two was another well played game but Johnston’s bats proved to be the difference in the see-saw game that was close through the first three innings. Johnston banged out 12 hits as they defeated the Cats 14-7. The Cats were led offensively again by Loney who went 3-3 to finish 6-7 on the day from the plate. Daniel Hupke went 2-3 as he was the only other Wildcat with more than one hit. Stickley threw the first two innings giving up 5 runs, only 3 of which were earned. Grant Davis threw one inning suffering the loss on the mound after surrendering 6 runs (5 earned) on 6 Dragon hits. David Reid also threw one inning giving up three runs on three hits.
