Cats end season on high note

The freshmen baseball team continued to win in dramatic fashion when they hosted the ADM Tigers on July 2nd. This doubleheader was the last games of the season for the 9th grade team. Carlisle fell behind 3-0 after the top of the first inning as ADM took advantage of three hits and three Carlisle errors to start the game. The Wildcats responded with two runs in the bottom of the first before scoring a single run in the third to tie the score at 3’s going into the last inning. Nate Stickley, who pitched a complete game for the Cats; got two fly balls and a ground out to hold ADM scoreless in the top of the 5th. Needing only a single run for the win, the Cats turned to some familiar faces. Daniel Hupke roped a two strike single to right field and moved to third on Stickley’s double with one out. ADM drew their infield in where Daniel Gramowski calmly drove a pitch back up the middle to plate Hupke for the walk-off win 4-3. David Reid went 2-3 with two runs scored while Stickley went 3-3 with two doubles. Gramowski drove in two of the team’s four runs. Stickley moved his record to 4-1 on the mound in the complete game win. Stickley gave up four hits, struck out three, and walked three.  
            Game two was full of action as well. Carlisle only mustered four hits but took advantage of nine walks and a handful of Tiger errors to take the come from behind win 10-8. Daniel Schwartz led the Cat offense going 2-3 while Hupke laced his 8th double of the season. Joey Ermler had a huge two run single to put the Cats up 8-5 in the third.   Gramowski and Dylan Pinckney each stole two bases. Ermler, Grant Davis, and Daniel Hupke all pitched with Davis picking up the win and Hupke earning the save after throwing the 5th
            The freshmen Cats conclude their successful season with a record of 17-8-1. The team was coached by Jared Fletcher.
